  Q. What is a pre-req?

  A. Many programs require a certain level of previous knowledge before a student qualifies. For example, in order to take the Nursing program   you need Math 12 & Biology 12.  These are pre-req's.

  Q. What if I didn't take one of the pre-req's in high school?

  A. Don't worry; you can always pick up the required pre-req through the CCP department, either before you enter the program or, in some  cases, while you are taking that program.

   Q. Do I have to have an "A" grade in the pre-req in order to get into the program I want?

  A. No, but many programs are in demand, so it would help. If you didn't get a good grade and would like to improve it and your chance of getting into the program you want, CCP can help you!

  Q. How do CCP classes run?

  A.  Small class sizes

        Majority classes are instructor led

        Meet five days a week

  Q. Can I take an evening class?

  A. Yes, we have evening classes in Math.

  Q. Can I take a University Transfer course at the same time I take a pre-req?

  A. Yes, depending on the scheduling.

  Q. What does it cost to take a pre-req?
  A. Tuition is free, you are require to pay some fees: 

       • Placement test fee:   $5

       • Application fee:       $15

       • CNC Students’ Union:  $9.80  per course

       • Registration fee:       $15 per semester

       • Student Building Fund:   $6.60 per semester

       • Canadian Federation of Students:    $2.01 per course

       • Daycare subsidy Fee:    $2.50 per year

       • Student Newspaper Fee:   $3.27 per year

       • Technology fee:    $5.20  per course (computer accounts are required for all students)

       • U-Pass:   $48 per semester 

         (The U-pass is a bus pass, 24/7 for ridership on buses and gives students free access to the swimming pool.)

   

   Note: these fees are subject to change, to see admissions for the current cost.
