Disability Support

The CTC and the College of New Caledonia have a process in place to determine if a student with an identified disability could be successful in one of the CTC programs before they are accepted.

The process is as follows:

1. The student MUST indicate on their application and/or during their interview that they have an identified disability.

2. The College of New Caledonia - Disability Support Services, will then review the students red file from their high school to better understand what resources would be necessary to accomodate the student and to determine if the College has those resources available.

3. Based on an understanding of the students' identified disability, the type of supports required and the types of resources that would be available at CNC, Disability Support Services in conjunctions with the Career Technical Centre will make the final decision as to whether a student is accepted into their program of choice.

4. The CTC office will then contact the student and/or their parents and notify them of the decision.

English Options

We recommend that students planning on attending a CTC program for their entire grade 12 year complete their English or Communications 11 in their first semester of Grade 11 and English or Communications 12 in their second sememster of Grade 11.

All students are responsible for completing their required core courses on their own time. Students who have not completed their Grade 12 English or Communications must complete it during their year at CTC.

English options for CTC students are:
English 050 Distance Package at CNC

This package will give students their Grade 12 English credit and is done through the Centre for Student Success at the College of New Caledonia. The centre is a free service at CNC allowing students to drop in or make appointments after their program classes have concluded for the day. Students will have to purchase the additional text books for this package.

Centre for Learning Alternatives

The Centre for Learning Alternatives has English 12 and Communications 12 packages available for the students to complete by correspondence. It is a free service based out of Prince George. Students will have to complete the course on their own time. Help is available at the Centre for Learning Alternatives or at the Centre for Student Success at the College.

Ebus Academy Online

Ebus allows students to choose to gain credit for English 12 or Communications 12. This is a free correspondence/online service with books and materials available at no extra cost. Students will have to complete their course online on their own time and can get help with the materials at the Centre for Student Success at the College.
