The BC Secondary School Mathematics Contest is a consolidation and expansion of three former regional high school mathematics contests at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) in Prince George, the University College of the Cariboo (UCC) in Kamloops, and Okanagan University College (OUC) in Kelowna, some of which date back to the 1970s.
The contest was subsequently adopted by other interior colleges and more recently has become province-wide, with various community colleges organizing participation in their local areas.
CNC is pleased to invite all the schools in its region to participate. Invitations are sent to the head of the math department at each school in mid-February.
The contest is composed of a preliminary round written in the high schools, and a final round written at CNC. There is a Junior Contest for students from grades 8 to 10 and a Senior Contest for students in grades 11 and 12.
