BC Colleges High School Mathematics Contest - College of New Caledonia
Rules and Prizes
1. The preliminary contest is written in the schools on the day indicated.
2. The top scoring students in the preliminary contest are invited, with their teachers, to write the final contest at the College of New Caledonia.
3. Each student is permitted scrap paper, ruler, and compass, but NOT a calculator or mathematical tables.
1. Preliminary Contest:
Book prizes to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in each grade 8 to 12. These are given to the teachers on the day of the final contest to be taken back to the school and awarded at a time left to the discretion of the teacher.
2. Final Contest:
Senior Contest (Grades 11 and 12)
1st prize $100.00 cash and a full tuition scholarship to CNC for one academic year and a large trophy (returned each year) and a keeper trophy.
2nd prize: $50.00 cash and a medal.
3rd prize: $25.00 cash and a medal.
Junior Contest (Grades 8, 9, 10)
1st prize $100.00 cash and a large trophy (returned each year) and a keeper trophy.
2nd prize $50.00 cash and a medal.
3rd prize $25.00 cash and a medal.
As well, each participant and teacher at the final contest receives a Math Contest T-shirt.
