Lana Coldwell has a BSW from the University of British Columbia, a MSW from the Unversity of Northern British Columbia and is Reality Therapy certified. She has advanced certification in the Myers-Briggs inventory. She is also a Registered Social Worker. Lana has been a full-time instructor with CNC since 1989. She currently is also a private practice counsellor with families, individuals, couples and children. Her research interests are in socio-economic class, and women’s issues.

Bruce Northey has a BA in Anthropology/Sociology from Carleton University, a BSW and MSW from the University of British Columbia. Bruce is also a registered social worker in BC (RSW) and was past president of the BCASW northern branch; past board member of the Board of Registration for Social Workers in BC. Private Practice: Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services since 1990; Certified in MBTI and hypnosis; 16 years in mental health, community development and youth care work prior to CNC. As well, Bruce is a full-time instructor at the College of New Caledonia since January 1989 and is currently a board member of the Prince George Folkfest Society.

Jackie Stokes has practiced social work in the north, both in Prince George and in smaller communities since 1985. She has provided counseling services for a variety of problems,including alcohol and drug treatment and children’s and adult mental health. She has been an Executive Director for a non-profit organization and a Manager in both the Ministry for Children and Families and the Northern Health Authority.
She has taught at the post-secondary level at both CNC and UNBC on a sessional or full-time bases since 1995. Jackie has a BSW from UBC and an MSW from UNBC and is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership from SFU.
She is a member of the BCASW, is a registered social worker, and continues to provide clinical work privately. She is a mother of two teenage boys, tries to keep fit through running and loves to go on adventuresome holidays. The Great Wall of China was accomplished – the Inca Trail is next!
