Provincial Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship is a formal written agreement between an employer, an employee, and the Province of BC, during which an apprentice attends training classes at one of several BC colleges approximately once a year. The Field Service Branch of the Ministry of Labour schedules the classes, arranges for apprentices to attend, and monitors their progress. Graduates qualify to write the Interprovincial Standards Examination for their chosen trade, following employment as an apprentice for the period of time specified in the Ministry guidelines.

Carpentry, Electrical, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwright, Welding

Q: What is the tuition for the technical training?
A: The tuition is $76.50 per week,  an administration fee of $15.00 and a 
     technology fee of $10.00

Q: Do I have to pay for the tuition before my training starts?
A: Yes, the tuition is payable before the course starts
