Kids' Edge

Get your child ready for school! Services are available for parents and childcare providers.
Kids’ Edge is a program designed to promote the developmental needs of children between the ages of 0-6, who are having difficulty with school readiness. There are many reasons why children may benefit from extra support, and one contributing factor is the effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol. The Kids’ Edge program does not identify or diagnose and the services offered benefit a wide range of children who need assistance. Program staff are especially knowledgeable about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), and are able to provide specific support to this group.
Services include:
-
Facilitating FASD workshops, education and training
-
Offering fact-based information about alcohol use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
-
Access to FASD resources
-
Providing referrals to community resources and services
-
Providing information to parents and caregivers about how to support children’s development.
The Kids’ Edge program helps children age 0 to 6:
-
Develop school readiness skills
-
Gain developmentally appropriate social skills, social awareness, and self confidence
-
Practice both attention and problem solving skills
-
Build communication skills, and emotional maturity
-
Practice gross and fine motor skills.
This is all done through FUN interactive games and activities.Contact us
