Foundation Level Carpentry 

 

Learn carpentry basics in this 21 week introductory program!

This Foundation program will take students through Level 1 technical training and provide practical and essential skills related to the carpentry apprentice program. Students must be prepared to participate in class projects in an outdoor environment.  Graduates will receive a certificate of completion, credit with ITA for Level 1 technical training, and 450 work-based hours toward their carpentry apprenticeship.

Admission Requirements

  • Grade 10 with English 10 and Principles of Math 10 or Applications of Math 10 with a "C" or higher in both. Students who do not meet the above requirement, and think they may be admissible as a mature student should consult a CNC counsellor/advisor.

CTC Option. High school students may be eligible to take this program. See your school counsellor for details.

 

Notes:

  • High school graduation with English 12, Math 11 and Physics 11 (where applicable) is recommended and is required by some employers in order to be indentured as an apprentice.
