Are you an Aboriginal student? The Aboriginal Liaison can help you to be successful at CNC Lakes!

 

The Aboriginal Advisor/Liaison (AAL) assists the campus in meeting the cultural needs of the Aboriginal students. In addition to seeking input from, and building partnerships with, First Nations communities the AAL is available to support and promote Aboriginal student success.

 Funding Opportunities

Apprenticeship Incentive Grant: Registered apprentices who have successfully finished their first or second year level (or equivalent) in one of the Red Seal trades can apply for the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG), which is a taxable cash grant of $1,000 per year per level up to a maximum of $2,000.

Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit (Federal): Federal Tax credits are also available for employers.

BC Student Assistance Program: Information at www.Student AidBC.ca

Employment Skills Access Program (ESA): Tuition support for unemployed and underemployed clients.

Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP): Services for individuals interested in training and employment in the trades.

Testing and Invigilation

 

CNC has the following on campus testing available :

  • EMAT (English and math assessments for CNC's programs and Adult Dogwood)
  • Myers-Briggs
  • LPI (Language Proficiency Index)
  • DAT (Mechanical Reasoning Test)

...and also invigilates for outside schools, agencies, and businesses, including:

  • other colleges and universities
  • insurance/banking organizations
  • correspondence agencies
  • GED

Student Discount Program

 

The student discount program offers discounts to  full-time students on the purchase of merchandise and services at participating community businesses. Students must present a valid CNC student card to receive the merchant discounts.
