Amateur Radio License (HAM)
Explore this fun and rewarding hobby. This Industry Canada certified course covers radio theory, radio regulations, antennas in transmission lines, propagation, radio equipment, radio spectrum, radio safety, modes of transmission and operating procedures. There is no age limit, but anyone taking this course should have a good grasp of math and have good reading skills. A basic understanding of physics is also helpful. There is a written exam and all participants must provide picture ID. A HAM license is good for life. 14 Hrs

ATV Training Certificate
The All Terrain Vehicle Rider Course is a nationally recognized program, developed by the Canada Safety Council to train the operators in the safe and efficient use of an ATV. The course includes both classroom and practical training with emphasis on operational skills. You must be 16 years or older and supply your own ATV in good working order. 7 Hrs

Bear - Cougar Aware
This course is a must for anyone spending time in the great outdoors. You’ll learn about bear and cougar habitat, species identification and how to avoid bear and cougar encounters when hiking, camping or working in the bush. Students will also learn about the safe handling and use of defensive weapons such as bear spray, bangers and guns.

Confined Space
The half-day course provides an overview of regulations, hazard identification, procedures and safety watch tasks important to the worksite for those working in confined spaces. Includes video and quiz. 4 Hrs

Learn how to safely work around sour gas wells. This is a PITS certified course which combines theory, demonstration and practice using H2S detectors, Actar heads and rescue breathing apparatus. On passing the exam, the certificate is good for three years. 7 Hrs

Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid & CPR
This 5-day course is for individuals who recreate or live in isolated or wilderness settings and need to respond to emergencies when advanced care is not immediately available. The course covers material in Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas as well as strategies to provide extended care for up to 24 hours. 40 Hrs

Level 3 is the most advanced first aid training available and most sought after by industry. This course will qualify you for an ex-am, which is scheduled outside of the dates listed. Home study is required. A medical certificate of fitness is not required as of Mar 1, 2010. No interim certification will be issued and students must provide photo ID. 3 year certification. 70 Hrs
