Drill Core Technician Basic Training Location: Fort St. James Dates: April, 2012 48 Hours Mon- Sat 8am - 4 pm The quality of information provided by a Core Technician plays an important role in the prediction and definition of ore bodies. The Drill Core Technician Course teaches students how to handle drill core and collect important technical data for diamond drilling projects. Training will take place in a core shack environment to replicate actual working conditions. Industry and job related field trips will be taken. · Measuring core and recording technical data · Handling, labeling, organizing, & storing core boxes · Splitting and sampling core · Quality assurance/quality control of data · Familiarization with diamond drilling Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the course. A resume and short math assessment are required for acceptance into the course. |
