The need for a Mineral Processing Operator Certificate (MPOC) was developed from the new mining operations opening in Northern BC. This is the first program of its kind offered in Western Canada and CNC is excited to be offering it in the Nechako region.

This entry level training program runs in conjunction with the Mining Resource Industry Certificate. The new program addresses the need for trained Mineral Processing Operators, which covers the next step after the ore has been extracted from the mine. The program is based on the National Occupational Standard for a Mineral Processing Operator (2006), developed by the Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR) as the basis for program development. The MPOC provides recognized industry standards in an entry level mineral processing plant education program with the outcome leading to “job ready” individuals or readiness to enter into further technical training. Offered at the Fort St. James Campus in partnership with Mount Milligan Mine.
