The programme provides full time day care for preschool children, and is in operation from September until the end of April.

Location on Campus:

Adjacent to the Dental Building

Philosophy

We believe that a positive self-esteem is central to children's growth and development. This belief forms the foundation of our philosophy and program and is dependent upon a sound interactive partnership between children, parents and caregivers.

We support the children's self-esteem by recognizing and encouraging the individuality and social being of each child. We believe this individuality and social being is reflected in the child's unique learning style, rate of growth and development, family system, culture and ethnic heritage.

We endeavour to provide a consistent, warm nurturing and emotionally supportive environment. In this way children can be comfortable experiencing, expressing, and coping with a wide range of emotions, both positive and negative. In a supportive environment children begin to develop effective communication skills by verbalizing thoughts, ideas, and needs and by listening to others.

It is our belief that an anti-biased, play-based environment which reflects our society's diversity, empowers children to be creative, independent, emotionally and socially competent, capable of making choices and be motivated to be lifelong learners. This belief forms the basis of our curriculum. We value children's interests and plan a programme in partnership with them which reflects their life experiences and relevant learning opportunities.
