Academic Upgrading and Pre-Trades Upgrading

(College & Career Preparation; Adult Basic Education)

Introduction

These courses are designed for people wishing to learn basic language and literacy skills to complete a secondary school education equivalent or acquire the prerequisite to College programs.

 

    All College and Career Preparation (CCP/ABE) courses are tuition-free!

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. A placement assessment is completed prior to admission in order to have appropriate course work assigned. A $5 fee is charged for the placement assessment . In cases where the admission requirements or course prerequisites have not been met, special admission may be granted upon written recommendations by a counsellor, the program coordinator and/or authorized by the Regional Director, or Associate Regional Director.

 

 

College and Career Preparation (CCP) Certification

College of New Caledonia courses may be used to satisfy the requirements of the three CCP Certificate levels and the BC Adult Graduation Diploma.

• Fundamental Certificate

• Intermediate Certificate

• Advanced Certificate

 

 

 

BC Adult Graduation Diploma  (The Adult Dogwood)

To be eligible to graduate adult students (19 years of age or older) must successfully complete five courses in the post-secondary system. More information is available on the BC Government's Ministry of Education web page.
