Terms of Reference

 

Structure:

The Web Committee is an advisory committee for the Communication Services department.

"Standing " committee members will include the Communication Services Manager; Web Developer; Web Designer; and Library/Media Services Director.

Additional members will be drawn from the College community at the Committee's invitation. These appointments will normally be for a two-year renewable term.

5 - 10 people will serve on the Committee.

 

Responsibilities:

The Committee will be responsible for advising on the overall development of the College website, and for assisting the Communication Services department to develop website-related strategies:

The Committee will:

• provide input into the layout/content of "official" institutional pages
• provide input into standards for "official" layout/content and guidelines for departmental and individual home pages
• assist in monitoring content to ensure adherence to standards and guidelines
• help to develop strategies for training/development of departmental contacts (people who maintain departmental or individual pages)
• provide feeback on suggestions from departmental contacts and users
• promote the College website and optimize its use as a marketing tool for the College
• keep abreast of new directions in technology and suggest new features for the ever-evolving website
