Summer Studies at CNC - Registration begins March 1, 2010

The College of New Caledonia opens its doors during the summer, offering students an opportunity to take Summer English Language Studies and University Transfer Credit Courses. University transfer courses are offered in a condensed semester format over 10 weeks from May  to July.  Summer ESL begins in May and ends in August.

Each summer, the International Student Centre plans various activities to nearby lakes and parks. Visit the centre to find out what the plans are for Summer 2010!

March 1: Registration opens. Hold your seat with a $100 deposit

April 14: Full tuition fees due by this date; all students must pay by this date. Please see the International Centre's Admin Assistant if this date cannot be met.

 

Fees:
International Students:  $1110 per course plus $135 per lab
Domestic Students: $360 per course plus $135 per lab

Improve your English and learn about Canadian culture!

Short Term Study: English plus Culture at the College of New Caledonia!


Join us at CNC for during the summer for three exciting weeks!  Improve your English language skills with our ESL program, and learn about Canadian culture through interactive and fun activities.  To participate, students must be 16 years of age or older.

What will I do?

  • Attend morning English classes to improve your conversational English skills
  • Enjoy a variety of afternoon fun and educational activities in friendly Prince George
  • Take weekly full day trips to local and regional attractions, go swimming and hiking, have picnics, visit scenic lakes, go shopping and more.
Where will I stay?
  • In warm and welcoming Prince George located one hour by air north of Vancouver. The city of Prince George offers you a variety of shopping and recreational opportunities. Outside of the city, you will find endless forests and abundant wildlife.
  • In a Homestay with a Canadian family. You will eat meals with your host family and be provided with a bedroom for sleeping. Your host family will want you to take part in their family activities during the evenings and weekends. Host families enjoy teaching you about their culture and lifestyle and will want to learn about your country too, so don't forget to bring some pictures of where you live and study!
Where will I study?
  • At the College of New Caledonia, a community college offering a variety of programs to over 5000 students. Our Prince George Campus is modern, providing our students with space to study, learn and relax.
  • You will study the Converstional English Program developed with your special interests in mind.

  • For several years, the College of New Caledonia has offered English Language Training plus Work Experience to students who are learning skills in health sciences and other career paths. This excellent opportunity offers students an opportunity to gain confidence using their English skills, and a chance to see their area of expertise in the Canadian context.
  • Students will study English at the College of New Caledonia
  • Students will be placed in a Canadian office to gain first hand experience in their area of study and how it translate to the work of work
  • Past participants in the ESL plus work experience program indicate their opportunities to find excellent work placements at home are enhanced by this experience....ask us how you can benefit from learning through the working lense!
