Media Lab

The Media Lab is an open area where you can do layout and design projects. There are clip-art collections ("sign in" by authorized staff member) available for college-related work, specialty papers, computers, flatbed and slide scanners, CD and DVD burners, black-and-white printers, a colour photocopier and a colour laserprinter available for your use. Staff can assist you with transparencies, digital photo printing, creating CD and DVD labels, and laminating. Please note that there is a cost for some supplies (see Price List).

Meeting/Equipment Rooms:  Two rooms in the lab are available for booking to CNC employees and students.

• 2-713: The small meeting room (for 1-4 people) is equipped with a video camera and TV/VCR and is ideal for students doing video projects.
• 2-714: The large meeting room (for 1-8 people) is equipped with similar video equipment, as well as computer presentation equipment (computer, speakers, projection unit, speakerphone) for webcasts and other online presentations.
• Booking the rooms: You can book these rooms from Media Services staff during the day, and from library staff on evenings/weekends. Please note that these rooms are for groups needing equipment. Groups that don't need equipment will be referred to the library seminar rooms or other college facilities.

Opening hours: The Media Lab is open longer hours in fall and spring - Mon.-Wed. til 10 pm, Thurs.-Fri. til 8 pm and Sat.-Sun. 12 noon-5 pm, to coincide with Library opening hours. During evening/weekend hours, the facility is open but not all equipment is available and the area is not separately staffed - library staff are available to help with some questions.
