The College of New Caledonia services the central interior communities of Prince George, Mackenzie, Valemount, Burns Lake, Quesnel, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake and Vanderhoof along with the surrounding areas. Please review the Aboriginal Education and Services policy for information on CNC's commitment.
Role of Aboriginal Advisory Committees
There are Aboriginal Advisory committees at each of our campuses. The role of these Advisory committees includes:
- Providing input on the issues and needs of their local community
- Advise CNC on changes in the labour market that may affect student employment
- Help evaluate programs and services to keep CNC responsive to changes and trends within the community
- Act as a communication link to the community
- Help provide employment opportunities for graduates
- Help direct the course of post-secondary education in their community
- Network with local leaders in their community - share resources and ideas
- Help retain and train students of all ages within their community
- Stay in touch with the latest developments in post-secondary
