Hours of Operation

September to April
Monday to Friday	8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
The Child Care Centre will be closed from December 24, 2012 - January 2, 2013

Philosophy

The College of New Caledonia Child Care Centre embraces the view that each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.  We believe that a play-based environment empowers children to be creative, independent, emotionally and socially competent, capable of making choices and that this will help each child to become a lifelong learner.

About the Prince George Campus Child Care program

The Prince George Child Care program provides full-time care for preschool children, 3-5 years old.  It is open from September until the end of April.  We are located adjacent to the Dental Building.  To reach us, please call 250.561.5834 or email us. You may also complete a registration form to hold a seat for your child for the next semester.

The Child Care Centre also functions as a demonstration setting for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program.  There is an observation room where students enrolled in either the Basic or Post Basic ECE programs can observe the practice of theories taught in the classroom.

Fees & Subsidy

Fees:	Full time fees per month, per child	$650.00
	Less than 4 hours per day (mornings only)	$20 per day
	More than 4 hours per day	$35 per day
Notes: Fees are due within the first 5 working days of the month; full time monthly fees are not reduced if days are missed due to illness or vacation.
Subsidy:	May be applied for and are available to all families on a sliding scale based on family income. www.mcf.gov.bc.ca/childcare/application.htm 1-888-338-6622 Parents are responsible for ensuring a current subsidy authorization is on file and for paying the balance of fees owed to the College program.
