Academic advising

Planning your courses with a timetable

Whether you're applying as a full-time or part-time student, it is a good idea to build a timetable to ensure that your schedule is conflict-free. A timetable will make it easy for you to visualize each week, and to plan your work schedule, study, time, and other committments.

Getting started

You'll need the following documents and information:

  • Timetable worksheets (PDF), one for each semester
  • Course selection sheets (PDF), one for each semester
  • Fall and spring semester timetables which list the dates and times, as well as instructors and locations for every course offered each semester
  • Course calendar to check for complete information on each course you may be planning to take

What's next?

Once you've sorted out your timetable, it's time to register for your courses. Each course has a limited amount of seats so you want to make sure you register for your courses as soon as you are able to. You can register online through your CNC Connect account (you must be a current registered student) or in person at the Admissions & Registration Department.

Where can I get more help?

We encourage you to get started on your schedule using the above tips but if you need some help or academic advice for your goals in school you can contact us to book an appointment to see an Academic Advisor or inquire about our walk-in times (10 minute visits for quick, straight-forward questions). You can also check our FAQ section for general answers to our most common inquiries.
