Welcome to the Aboriginal Resource Centre at the College of New Caledonia. We respectfully acknowledge that our Prince George campus is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. We are grateful for their graciousness for welcoming knowledge-seekers to their territory.

Through our 5 regional campuses, we are proud to serve and build relationships with 22 First Nations across the region. Guided by the voices and traditions of the communities we serve, we are committed to creating spaces where Indigenous students feel seen, heard, and empowered to thrive.

Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC)

The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) is a welcoming, culturally safe space that supports Indigenous students throughout their journey at CNC. We are here to help you succeed academically, personally, and culturally while staying connected to community, culture, and available supports.

What We Offer

Services for Indigenous students are available at all CNC campuses. At the Prince George campus, students can access:

• Cultural events, workshops, social gatherings, and smudging ceremonies
• Guidance and support from Indigenous staff and Elders
• Connections to college and community resources
• Information about funding, scholarships, awards, sponsorships, and employment opportunities
• Opportunities to explore Indigenous knowledge, culture, and traditions

ARC Spaces and Services

At the ARC, you will find:

• A study area, decompression space, smudge room, computers, printer, kitchenette, and complimentary coffee and tea
• The Manager of Indigenous Initiatives and Inclusion
• An Indigenous Wholistic Support Worker who provides culturally grounded support for students' physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being
• An Indigenous Student Navigator who helps students navigate college processes, access funding, and connect with resources and services

Important Dates

The ARC staff work in collaboration with CNC to host culturally relevant events and activities throughout the fiscal year to honour diversity and promote Aboriginal culture while we continue our healing journey in moving toward truth and reconciliation.
