Through the web pages we provide on this site, Information Technology Services wants to provide quick and easy access to information that will make your learning or working experience easier and more efficient. Email Migration

New Webmail Link: http://owa.cnc.bc.ca

Starting on June 1, 2013, IT Services will be migration all of the remaining CNC email accounts from the old SurgeMail system onto our new Exchange email servers. The migration process will be carried out in 2 phases.

 

Phase 1 - Estimated Duration = 2 days: 

We will create all of your new accounts on the Exchange system which you can access using your existing username and password from the new webmail link: http://owa.cnc.bc.ca. You will be able to start using this new account immediately after it is created to send and receive messages.

 

Phase 2 - Estimated Duration = 2 weeks:

We will copy all of your existing email from the old SurgeMail system into your mailbox on the new servers. It will take up to 2 weeks to process all of the approximately 12,000 accounts that are still on the old server. If you absolutely need to access your old email before the 2 week deadline then please contact helpdesk@cnc.bc.ca so we can expedite your account migration.

 

What you need to do before June 1

 

1) Export your contacts from SurgeMail:

Your contacts will not be automatically migrated. If you need to keep your contact list then follow the steps in this FAQ to export the data:

2) Tell ITServices (helpdesk@cnc.bc.ca) if you absolutely cannot go without your old email messages during the 2 weeks migration process.

Please make an attempt to backup any important messages/attachments that you know you will need to access during the 2 week migration. If there is too much data that you know you will need during the 2 week window then let us know and we can try to prioritize your account migration.
