Do I have to apply for an e-mail account?
What is my e-mail address?
Why use SurgeWeb?
Why am I not receiving some e-mails?
How do I report problems with SurgeWeb?

Q: Do I have to apply for an e-mail account?
A: No! This is part of your "computer account".

Q: What is my e-mail address?
A: It is your "username"@cnc.bc.ca , e.g. smithv@cnc.bc.ca

Q: Why use SurgeWeb?
A: You can access your e-mail from anywhere inside the College or outside from a computer that is connected to the Internet.

Q: Why am I not receiving some e-mails?
A: Possibly you have clicked on "Add to blacklist" sometime in the past within the old WebMail application. To check if you have blacklisted certain e-mails go to "Options/Preferences" and then "Filtering & Spam Control" in SurgeWeb. Click "Configure" in the right column in the "Filtering Rules & Exceptions" row. Click the "Whitelisting" link along the top. You'll now see a blue button with "Blocked Sender Blacklist" written in it, click that button. There it will list all the e-mails that you have blacklisted. For technical reasons IT Services strongly recommends the removal of all blacklisted addresses.
