Access to Gartner's technology-related information and services is available at no charge to CNC students, faculty, and staff.

Students:

Special Features of CNC Gartner Services

Gartner services provide you with customization and access to make your information gathering experience more productive. Some of these features include:

• A Web-based login system allows you to use your CNC user ID and password to access Gartner services from anywhere you can connect to the Internet. If you don't know your CNC user ID or password, please contact the IT Support Center or email helpdesk@cnc.bc.ca.
• An "Edit Your Profile" page allows you to set your personal preferences, which includes accessing your Usage Report. This report allows you to check the history and details of research you've accessed in previous sessions on Gartner.com, and can be filtered according to usage by month, title, topic, and type.
• Gartner's Hype Cycles show the typical progression of an emerging technology in graphical terms, separating hype from reality so technology users can make informed decisions about when and if they should adopt a new technology.
• Gartner Magic Quadrants are designed to help you choose the right vendor for selected technologies by providing vendor descriptions, market information, and the criteria used to determine vendors' positions within a market. Determine which vendors are leaders, visionaries, niche-players, or challengers, then discover how vendors perform in relation to each other within a market and gauge where overall markets are going.
