Street Humanities

An Exploration into Education


Are you interested in taking free non-credit college courses but; you can't afford tuition, books, supplies, transportation; you don't know which courses to take; you're worried that it's been too long since you were in school, or you just don't know where to begin?

You Qualify if:

  • you're a marginalized man or woman who has experienced exclusion, poverty, barriers to learning, homelessness, and/or unemployment
  • you can read and write
  • you have an interest in learning and challenging yourself in a new way
  • you're able to commit to attending two evening classes each week for the academic year

What's provided:

  • Hot meal
  • Bus pass to get to class
  • Tuition, books, and materials
  • Study and discussion groups
  • Stress buster days
  • Cultural activities
  • Student orientation
  • Gradual integration into the College life
  • Supportive learning environment
  • Assistance balancing your educational and personal goals
