Once accepted at CNC you will finish two years in our dental hygiene program. We start each year in Sept and go until May for a total of 32 weeks per year.
Our clinic is equipped with 20 dental operatories and 4 radiography rooms. We have computerized dental stations and digital radiography capabilities. Students are actively involved in our dental clinic providing patient centred oral health care.
Our dental hygiene curriculum also focuses on community based activities. Some examples include: In collaboration with Northern Health we have run a Seal in a Smile program for many years. Our students participate in providing education and presentations to many different community groups. As well, our students provide care for residents in long term care facilities. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Healthcare Travelling Roadshow.
Upon graduation our graduates are career ready and can be found employed in many dental offices around the province. Some have gone on to own and operate their own dental hygiene practices, some also work in residential care facilities, public health units, community care centres as well as administrators and educators.
