    Join the fast-growing tourism and hospitality industry in Northern BC. More than 1000 entry level job openings are projected by Work BC in in this sector over the next 10 years. At the end of your classroom training, you will take part in a practicum with a local employer, furthering your training and gaining you real industry experience.

    Base Course: Tourism and Hospitality Fundamentals

    Do I Qualify?

    You may qualify for the program if you are:

    • Unemployed, precariously employed or experiencing multiple barriers to employment.
    • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
    • Living in British Columbia at the time of training.
    • Not participating in another provincially or federally funded labour market program at the time of training.

    Are you facing two or more barriers to employment?

    • Housing instability
    • In recovery from substance use
    • Prior criminal justice involvement
    • Mental health challenges
    • Lack of recent and/or Canadian work experience
    • Limited basic employment skills
    • Limited literacy, financial literacy, or digital literacy skills
    • Limited English language skills
    • Having less than a Grade 12 education
    • Being a Visible Minority, Recent Immigrant, Refugee, Young Adult at Risk, Older Worker, Survivor of Violence and/or Abuse, or Person with Disabilities.
