• What programs are available at CNC?

  CNC offers more than 70 programs in health sciences, trades and technologies, social services, business and university studies and is an integral part of what makes CNC a great place to learn.

• What are the admission requirements?

  To see specific admission requirements for a program you are interested in, please select a program here and look under “Entry Requirements”. If you need help determining if you meet the admissions requirements for a program, please contact Academic Advising at 250-561-5818 to request a student advising appointment.

• I’m thinking of coming to CNC. What are my next steps?

  Our Future Student Advisors are here to help you explore your options. Future Student Advisors are available to discuss programs and services and walk you through the application process.

• How do I book an appointment with an academic advisor?

  Before you have been accepted into a program

  Book an appointment with a Future Student Advisor to help you sort out prerequisites and apply to CNC.

  Once you have been accepted into a program

  Book an appointment with an academic advisor by phone, email, or through our web portal.

• How do I apply for a program?

  Applying online

  Applications may be made online through Education Planner BC. To get started, visit the “How to Apply” page and click on “Apply Now”. It will walk you through the online application process step by step.
  

  Applying in-person

  You can apply in-person at any one of our campuses using our paper application form. 

  Please make sure you also send in your transcripts once an application has been submitted. You can see the “Sending a transcript to CNC” page for more information.

• Can I still apply to CNC?

  Applications are open September 15th until March 31st for most programs. Although it is past the application deadline, some programs may still have seats available in which case you can still apply. Speak to a Future Student Advisor to learn more. You can contact them at futurestudent@cnc.bc.ca or call 250-561-5855.

• How much is my program going to cost?

  The cost of each program varies slightly from year to year. Please consult the latest fee schedule by visiting the CNC Admissions webpage. The Fee Schedule is located here. For further information, contact the Office of the Registrar at 250-562-2131.

• How do I apply for a Student Loan?

  Student loans are applied for online through StudentAid BC. If you require support or help with the loan application process, please call Financial Aid 250-561-5838 or email finaid@cnc.bc.ca. Aboriginal students can contact an Aboriginal Student Advisor at 250-561-2131 ext. 5488 for assistance with band funding.

• What support is there for Aboriginal students on campus?

  CNC houses the Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) which is on the traditional unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. We acknowledge their graciousness for welcoming knowledge-seekers to their territory. There are cultural advisor, aboriginal academic advisor, Future Student Aboriginal Advisor, and liaisons available to provide information and support before and after you become a CNC student and will help you achieve your educational goals. CNC strives to be inclusive and equitable, embrace diversity and foster respectful relationships, and provide culturally safe services and facilities to Aboriginal students and communities. The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) can be reached at 250-562-2131 ext. 5488.

• I have a disability, who do I contact?

  To learn about support services for students with disabilities, contact Accessibility Services or phone to arrange an appointment 250-561-5838 or send an e-mail to access@cnc.bc.ca.

  If you are attending school on a Regional Campus, please contact the Academic Advisor at your campus.

• Where can I go if I need extra help with my studies?

  Testing & Tutoring Services (TTS) is open all year to provide students with free tutoring services as well as testing services for CNC students and students that wish to write exams from other institutions.

• What Health and Wellness resources are there on campus?

  Our Wellness Coach can include working on stress and time management and coping skills. The Wellness Coach can also provide students support and information related to CNC policies and procedures. You can book an appointment with our Wellness Coach by phoning 250-561-5818. If you do not have a family doctor, or if you require non-urgent care, our nurse practitioner or doctor are available to see you in our Health and Wellness Centre. A mental health counselor is also available for appointments from Monday to Friday. CNC’s Health and Wellness webpage has information on all of the resources available to students.

• Where can I live on campus?

  CNC Housing provides affordable and centrally located community living close to shopping, transportation, recreational facilities, and forest trails. We also have a new Aboriginal House opening later this year.

• How do I register for my courses?

  You first need to have applied and been accepted into a specific program before being permitted to register. Information on application fees, requirements, fees, and deadlines can be found on the Application Information page. Once accepted, you can then register for classes within that program by logging into your CNC Connect. Instructions on how to search/add/drop classes can be found here. 

• When can I register for my classes?

  You will need to log into your CNC Connect account in order to find your student-specific Registration Priority Date. On the student menu, find the Academic Profile heading, and click on ‘When can I Register?’.

• I don’t even know how to get started … Can someone help me?

  For help getting started, our Future Student Advisors are your first stop. You can email futurestudent@cnc.bc.ca or call 250 561 5855 to talk with a Future Student Advisor to discuss your interests and goals, as well as the application process.

  Please note that Future Student Services is not able to do appointments with prospective International students.
